Hello Spring

 Hello!

Spring has arrived three weeks earlier this year.

Everywhere is green and blooming, with the fruit tree blossom being particularly beautiful.

The Cherry Blossoms from Dusty Attic were perfect for this theme.

They were primed with white gesso and then decorated with a few pink brushstrokes.

Finally, a few yellow dots were added for the stamen,

and the flowers matching the photo were ready.

Erste Frühlingsboten

 Hello everyone!

On a walk in the woods we spotted the first signs of spring this year - snowdrops.

At Dusty Attic, I quickly found the matching chippies.

They were decorated with a little paint to match the grey season.

To represent snow and ice residue, deco ice and

artificial snow were sprinkled into the still damp paint.

Forest lantern

 Hello everyone!

Today, I am presenting a new lantern project.
This simple model features open rectangular apertures made of birch wood,
designed to match a forest theme.
I glued perspex sheets onto three sides, leaving the fourth open
so that a simple electric tea light can be placed inside.

To decorate the lantern, I added a few filigree MDF parts,
dividing them into different sections and gluing them on individually.
As the original colour of the MDF parts contrasted well with the
light birch wood tone,
I didn't change their colour.

The first Frost

 Hello everyone!

November - that unloved month between golden October with its glowing foliage,

and the frosty December, that magical but often very hectic time.

The first frosty November nights  freeze the last summer flowers and Halloween pumpkins

and cover everything with a soft blanket of snow.

This mood inspired me to use a new mixed media board in the shape of a pumpkin.

In a blue mood, I designed the background with a stencil and acrylics.

The little forest elf spreads some warmth with her little light in this dark landscape

covered with hoarfrost.

Opa Gnom

Hello everyone!

Today I'd like to introduce you to the inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest,

who probably come and go quite often in the big mushroom

some details

Special Tip

You can also make a sitting Opa Gnom from a standing one.

After all, an old man wants comfort.

Just break the legs twice OMG 😀

and then glue them back together at a 90° angle.

One with Nature with Dusty Attic

 Hello creative friends!

My friend wanted a new design for her child's room.

Her son enjoys exploring nature and always brings his discoveries to show his mum.

She desired a natural scene for a boy without any flowers.

Thus, I created a wild layout. I continued the central photo in a painterly manner

and assembled various photos of beetles, plants and spider webs around it.

Nature has so much to offer when we keep our eyes open.

At Dusty Attic I found a lot of matching chipboards in natural look,

I especially love these magical mushrooms.

Book Nook - Fairy Forest House

  Hello everyone!

I was inspired again to create a new book nook.
Maybe you remember the last one in steampunk style.

Today to the theme Enchanted forest, a little dreamy fairy house in natural style.

How to ...tips

for the lighting I added an additional wall made of cardboard,
which was covered with wood paper and finished with cutting dies (stars)

side walls were covered with scrapbooking paper,
stencilled with butterfly motifs and
decorated with pieces of  Leafy Frame Set #2

in project centre is a 3D Birdhouse, which is fixed on a birch branch as a stand
a ladder leads to it, which was created from the Old Wooden Fence #3

cut out the door from chipboard remnants

primed with black gesso and painted with acrylics

furthermore I used various naturally dried materials
to finish the house (branches, pine cones, lichen)

Wonky Forest House

 Hello everyone!

When I discovered the wonky house, I immediately thought it was not just for Halloween,

it could also be a wonderful old enchanted wooden cabin in a magical forest.

So I quickly glued the parts together, which wasn't that easy,

but I wanted to create an old half-ruined romantic hut.

used Trefoil border shape as a base board

looked for a few matching pieces in Autumn & Woodland Shapes section.

Have you seen the new Skeleton, Dead Trees, Stumps & Branches?

Love them, perfect for an enchanted forest theme

and a lot of other fantasy themes!

You will certainly be able to discover them here more often in the near future. 😀

All parts were painted with acrylic paint, finally I added some suitable

 dried natural materials.
